Participants can pay $ 50 to try all classes for 8 weeks.

Registration can be submitted online. Participants do not need to be a Berkeley resident to register.

Here’s what Berkeley Recreation will offer:

Zumba: Mondays at 6 p.m., Saturday at 9 a.m.

Zumba is designed to be easy for people to follow. It’s a program for everyone – people of all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. Zumba is a form of aerobic dance exercise similar to jazzercise. Its distinguishing feature is its use of Latin American music and dance rhythms to create a festive atmosphere in class sessions.

Vinyasa yoga for all levels: Wednesdays at 5 p.m.

Slow flow Vinyasa with guided meditation. The benefits of yoga include stress relief, better breathing, flexibility, increased strength, weight management, better circulation, cardiovascular conditioning, and inner peace.

Soft stretch yoga: Thursdays at 9 a.m.

This course introduces the alignment and the work of the breath in a flow of postures linked together by the breath. Students will be introduced to yoga postures through a step-by-step verbal description and demonstration. The benefits of yoga include stress relief, better breathing, flexibility, increased strength, weight management, better circulation, cardiovascular conditioning, and inner peace.

AMPD resistance: Thursdays at 5:30 p.m.

Resistance is a 60 minute class that takes great music and combines it with simple resistance band movements to create a fun and effective full body workout! Resistance bands are lightweight and can be changed to suit ability or preference, making them safe for all fitness levels. Participants must bring a yoga mat, towel and water. Resistance bands will be provided in class.

POUND: Fridays at 5 p.m.

Designed for all fitness levels, POUND offers the perfect atmosphere to relax, rejuvenate, tone and let off steam! The workout is easily modifiable, and the alternate vibe and welcoming philosophy appeals to men and women of all ages and abilities. Instead of listening to music, you become the music of this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning and strength training with movements inspired by yoga and Pilates.
Using Ripstix, lightly weighted chopsticks designed specifically for exercise, POUND turns drums into an incredibly efficient way to work out. Your instructor, Lisa Pepper, will provide the Ripstix.
