Community music program resumes this month | Electronic News

After a deserving and rejuvenating summer, channel your inspiration and creativity into learning to play an instrument and mastering this craft with music lessons, band lessons and ensembles through the Community Music Program.

The community music program is open to everyone, beginners, amateurs and performers of all ages and levels, who wish to enrich their daily lives with the arts, explore new creative territories or perform with other people who share the same passion.

For the 13-week duration of the program, members can enroll in private lessons on a variety of instruments, enroll in new and old band lessons, or perform with the Morgantown Community Orchestra. All classes are taught by faculty members of the WVU School of Music and the Community Music Program.

Classes begin August 29 and classes will run until December 18. Early bird registration is open until September 11 and the late registration period will end on October 30, during which time a $15.00 late registration fee will be applied to all incoming registrations. .

The program continues to celebrate its 60th anniversary with special offers, plus discounts for seniors, members of multiple families, and classes. Music students from nearby colleges will receive a 10% discount to be active performers with the Morgantown Community Orchestra.

• Digital photography (level 1)

• Meditation and breathing with Gabrielle

• Tai Chi Thursdays with William

• Early Childhood Music: ABC DO-RE-MI
