Part 2

The Quiet Club with special guest dancer choreographer Inma Pavon return to Holy Trinity Church, East Ferry, Midleton, Co Cork
on June 4 at 8 p.m. to continue their sound explorations of this unique space. After an extremely successful concert last month in front of a delightful audience, they will return to continue their sonic adventures.
They will be joined on this occasion by dancer choreographer Inma Pavon Director Of The New Youth Dance Company and Cork-based artist Irene Murphy whose latest work “Not Just Rivers” was recently released at New Music Dublin by Diatribe Records
. “Site Of Sound” offers a unique listening experience in one of Ireland’s hidden architectural gems. Holy Trinity Church, East Ferry, Midleton is situated on the waters edge of Cork Harbour. Rarely used as a concert hall, it offers unique sound possibilities as well as the fact that it does not even have electricity and is lit and heated by gas. This creates a very unique ambiance combined with the setting sun shining through the beautiful stained glass windows. They will fully explore its unique acoustics and take the audience on a unique listening experience. Listening is at the heart of The Quiet Club’s practice and their work is totally free improvisation that always comes back to “listening” as its heart. Considered one of Ireland’s leading sound art and improvisation groups, they have performed worldwide and have numerous CDs and other releases. Their work is available at www.farpointrecordings.com. With their mix of homemade and adapted instruments alongside incredible choreographer, dance and movement artist Inma Pavon, it promises to be another great listening and viewing experience. Along with a meditation on the physicality of the space it will inhabit, there will be sound exploration to accompany it. Booking in advance is strongly recommended as the room is small. Tickets 10th Reservation [email protected] or 0872403940
Supported by Cork County Council, Department of Tourism, Culture, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. County Cork POPs. Midleton Arts Festival.
